Alessa's Germany Experience, Day 8 - Still Waiting
We called Dr. Rohr at 10 a.m. to find out that only one bed was available today and the other RSD family got it. As sad as we are for Alessa, we're very happy for the other family. Hopefully, a bed will become available tomorrow.
In the meantime, Alessa was allowed to eat again. She wasn't well enough to go down to the breakfast buffet, but we were able to bring food up to her. She wasn't up to eating much, but she did enjoy a bowl of yogurt with granola. Later in the day, she could only manage to eat some bread.
Alessa had a very difficult night. She had full body muscle seizures. She never had anything to this extent before. She also had a bout of severe acid reflux. All we could so was stay by her side and try to help her as best we could.
As I'm typing this, Alessa has finally gone to sleep. Her body seems to have finally relaxed. Whew! We made it through another day.

We know what the waiting is like, and it's incredibly stressful. I pray at as I write this you've found out that there IS a bed available for Alessa today. Stay Strong - you'll soon be able to relax in knowing that Alessa is resting comfortably in her coma sleep and on her way back to life as it should be!!!! Postive energy and prayers are being directed toward Saarbruecken. Please give Alessa our best if she's not under just yet.
