Alessa's Germany Experience, Day 34 - Asleep at Last
Since Alessa woke up from the coma, she's only been able to sleep for an hour or so at a time. Some days she hasn't slept at all. While here at the hotel, she was able to spend her awake time catching up with friends on the computer.
However, all that awake time is draining. Alessa was so tired and just wanted to sleep. Today she got her wish and fell asleep at last! She slept for over eight hours and feels much better.

Hi Alessa!
I am soooo glad you got some sleep! And wow, eight hours! What answer to prayer! I know after I woke up from the coma you were blessed to sleep three hours!!! And it is so draining to be awake 22 hours a day! What do you DO for 22 hours a day? Mom and our friends and I always ended up playing Phase 10 and dutch blitz (card games) at 1 o'clock, 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock. Also tough when your on the other side and CAN actually sleep if your the parents! Hang in there guys! :) That gets better too! I saw the pictures and you look GREAT!!! I can't wait to meet you and keep up the great work! I am now completely out of the wheelchair (except at malls) and I know you will be there soon! It is a slow process but it WILL happen! A friend sent me a quote that says "Mile-by-mile takes a while, yard-by-yard it's to hard, inch-by-inch it's a cinch". Now, "cinch" may be a little off but when i think about it (and I am sure you have heard this but..) it took a long time to get to where we WERE and when we think about it WE ARE SPEEDING AHEAD!!! :) Though I KNOW it doesn't seem like it! Great job and YOU GO GIRL!!! :)
All my love and prayers!

Hello Alessa,
My name is Judy Hopkins and I was in Germany in October and November with Tracy Brooks. Her mother gave me this site and I've been following along and am so happy for you that you are doing so well. I will pray that you continue to be RSD pain free and that you and your family are home soon. I know how difficult it is to sleep after the coma, but it will get easier. Congratulations on the new life that lies ahead for you. All the best to you and your family.
love and prayers,
