Alessa's Germany Experience, Day 31 - Released from Hospital

Today's the day we've all been looking forward to! Alessa has been released from the hospital after 22 days! We are so excited. This is her first time looking at the world through eyes cleared of pain. All she could do all day is smile. The sparkle that has been missing for so many years is back! The future is hers once again. She now has so much to look forward to.

Before leaving the hospital, Alessa had a few things to do. She said her goodbyes and gave her sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses. She went to a physical therapy appointment. Then the three of us stopped at the Chapel so that Alessa could see the picture of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. She wanted to thank h
er for being with her through the coma and for helping her to overcome the pain.

After that, Steve had the Smart Car waiting to take Alessa to the hotel. You should have seen her face when she saw her ride! Her smile stretched from ear to ear.

  • Hi Alessa!

We really enjoyed looking at the pictures that are posted. Boy, have we missed your beautful smile and dimples! So great to see you pain-free. Hope you get a chance, when you're feeling better, to enjoy the sights. In the meantime, get your rest and enjoy the sights from your hotel room.

We enjoyed talking to you the other day and hope we'll be able to enjoy more conversations prior to your return home.

    Love,
Aunt Donna, Uncle Ken and John
