Alessa's Germany Experience, Day 26 - The Itchies

Beginning at about 2 a.m., Alessa got the itchies. She was itchy all over; even her toes were itchy. She had herself all red from scratching. She couldn't stop squirming all over the bed. This is another side effect of ketamine withdrawal. It might not happen to everyone, but Alessa was stuck with the itchies for about four hours. I was glad when she was finally able to go to sleep, even though she only slept for a short amount of time.

Dry skin is also a side effect. Luckily, Alessa has her Burt's Bees Body Lotion with her. She's doing a lot of moisturizing.

She started wearing sweatpants yesterday. She's very happy about that. She's all ready now for the physical therapist to come tomorrow. She's very anxious to start walking again.

Each day shows improvement. She's still PAIN FREE! We thank God and the Blessed Mother every day for this miracle and for the wonderful doctors and nurses who made it happen. It's still hard to wrap our minds around it.
