Alessa's Germany Experience, Day 22 - Out of ICU

Alessa's out of ICU and in a regular room. She has a nice room all to herself. She even has a balcony with a table and two chairs! I never knew hospitals provided that before! Hopefully, she'll eventually get to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the nice view of the trees and surrounding hills.

All tubes and IV's are now gone. Alessa is free of all attachments. However, she is not clear headed like yesterday. She's talking a lot, but a good deal of what she's saying doesn't make any sense. She's still not talking in her normal voice. That will take a little more time to come back. Hopefully, it won't be long before she's thinking clearly again. Talking nonsense is part of the withdrawal from the ketamine.

  • Hi! So happy to hear Alessa has been moved from ICU. Sounds like she is getting first class treatment- a room with a balcony and a view!! Let me know when they move her to an ocean front room. (lol) It sounds like she's making progress and headed in the right direction. That is... no more tubes or IV's.

I'm sure once she goes through ketamine withdrawal, she'll be thinking clearly again. And if not, I've never been on ketamine --what's my excuse!!

    Talk to you later.
    Love, Donna, Ken and
    John
