Alessa's Germany Experience, Day 16 - On Edge

The ketamine was turned off today. It was infused for a total of seven days beginning last Thursday. They will keep her sedated for a couple of days to help her wake up easier. She could begin to wake up as early as tomorrow or as late as Sunday. It's a "wait and see" kind of thing. Each person's experience is different.

She was still deep in the coma today. We're both very much on edge wondering how she'll be when she wakes up. We're especially nervous because she still has the drainage tube in her that's draining the air from the punctured area just outside of her right lung. The tube goes into her between two ribs. We keep hoping that they'll be able to take it out before she wakes up.

  • Hi Terry and Steve!
I can't believe it's already time for the ketamine to be turned off and for Alessa to begin awakening from the coma. I can't imagine how nervous the two of you must feel at this time. Please be assured that your friends and family are praying for the three of you at this difficult time. All our love...Donna, Ken and John
