Alessa's Germany Experience, Day 11 - Ketamine

Dr. Rohr said that Alessa would be in the ketamine induced coma for five days. Since she went into the coma on Thursday afternoon (April 3), that means that she should start coming out of the coma next Wednesday (April 9). Each patient is different. Some wake up faster than others.

Ketamine in such high doses is not approved by the FDA in the United States. Hopefully, after seeing the good results of the RSD patients who come to Germany, the FDA will eventually change its mind. Sooner than later would be nice.

  • Hi you two...just checking in to see how things are going. You are so strong and brave to do such a difficult thing to help Alessa get well. I am thinking of and praying for you all every day. GOD is with you and he sent an angel named Ralph to aide you as proof! Take care and hang in there! Thinking of you all....Patti B.

  • Yes, Sooner than later! i think it is just great that you families document with pictures and blogs because the USA needs to do something to help the vast number of Americans living with the unrelinquishing pain of RSD. Praying for you, Alessa.
